Maternity Photoshoot Preview

Image
A couple of weeks ago, Isaac and I did a photo session with one of my friends, Chelsea.  She takes amazingly creative pictures that always turn out so beautiful, and she took our engagement photos about a year and a half ago. When she brought up the idea of taking some maternity photos, I jumped at the idea.  Isaac didn't understand why we needed to have pictures taken, but after we took them he would not stop bugging me about when we were going to get the results back! I will get the rest of the pictures tomorrow and post a gazillion of them for you to see, but here is a small preview: I can't help but feel like I look HUMONGOUS in these, but they turned out pretty amazing despite that fact.  I can't wait to see the rest of them!!  Thanks again, Chels :)

Pink EVERYTHING!

Image
We've had Grace's bedroom done for a while and went crazy buying baby girl items (clothes, bows, socks, shoes, EVERYTHING ) when we found out Grace was indeed a girl. This past week, my mom asked me if I was going to redecorate the bathroom closest to Grace's room upstairs.  It was brown and green polk-a-dots and swirls.  Since we had another bathroom upstairs with not much in it, I decided I could move the brown and green stuff in there and decorate a bathroom for Grace.  I then realized that she won't be using it for quite some time, but at least it would be done, right? My first step was going to Bed, Bath, and Beyond because I literally buy EVERYTHING there.  I was super suprised when they didn't have any cute girly decor for a kid's bathroom.  I even looked on their website and didn't see anything worthy of Princess Grace.  So I started shopping online.  It went a little something like this: target.com jcpenney.com dillards.com macys.com I then goog

Red Raspberry Leaves

Image
Thanks to my fellow prego friend Jamie, I have learned about tea made from Red Raspberry Leaves. Apparently it helps with all kinds of things during pregnancy.  Some of the most fascinating are: The increase of fertility in both men and women. The prevention of miscarriage and postpartum hemorrhage. The ease of morning sickness. The shortening of the second stage of labor (the most painful part). The reduction of pain both during and after labor. The assistance in the production of plentiful breast milk. The allowance of the conracting uterus to work more effectively, making the birth easier and faster. The help it provides the uterus to get back to its much smaller size after delivery. The numerous vitamins and minerals it can provide the mother and the baby while breastfeeding. Need I say more? I'm going to pick some of this stuff up as soon as I get off work today! Thanks again Jamie :) NOTE : I would wait until you are past 32 weeks before diving in, as so

32 and a Half Weeks

Image
We are now 32 and a half weeks pregnant!!  That means in about 52 days (or 7 and a half weeks, or 1,240 hours) little Gracie should be here.  She has been really moving like crazy for the past two days.  Last night I was laying on my side trying to fall asleep when all of the sudden she started kicking and punching (or practicing her gymnastic skills) all over the place. I had Isaac put his hand on my belly so he could feel all of the ruckus going on inside.  He wouldn't believe that it was her doing all that moving.  He kept telling me to stop flexing my stomach muscles.  Since he didn't believe it, I turned on the light to see if he could actually see her moving around.  He put his hand on top of my belly, and Grace instantly kicked his hand right off!  He got this crazy look on his face and could not believe his eyes.  You could see my belly moving all over and elbows or feet protruding from either side. After seeing her move, Isaac decided we should give the heart listene

Nesting

Image
We've spent the past week living in a huge mess because we were getting our house painted. It's been really hard because I'm in that "nesting" stage of the pregnancy where I want everything to be clean and organized so that when the baby comes we only have to focus on her. It really is rough not being able to use my kitchen and sleeping on a bed in the middle of the room surrounded by dressers and tvs.  On the plus side, our now fully painted house looks amazing! Our living room used to be pretty dark.  It looked like this: and now it's brighter and looks a lot bigger. This is my favorite room in the house now! I've found some art that I really like for the walls in here.  I'm planning on ordering it in the next couple of weeks. We are still working on moving furniture back and cleaning up the mess, but we've come a long way so far. Here is a picture of our front room: The green looks really pretty on the wall next to our dining room tabl

My Poor Dog

Image
I used to think I had the cutest dog ever. Judging by her personality I'm certain of it.  She's hyper, super active, loving, and she keeps us laughing all the time.  After this new haircut though, she's not looking so hot. She went from looking like this adorable little mop: To looking something like a coyote-chihuahua mix: Last time we took her to our vet to get groomed, they really messed up her hair.  We decided that it would be a great idea to take her to Petsmart because it was cheaper (when I called) and maybe they could do a better job.  Well, when Isaac and I went to pick her up and she looked like this, we weren't too happy.  On top of the terrible haircut, they charged us for every other little thing they did (like brushing her teeth, cleaning her ears, etc.)!! Although we didn't like the way she looked at first, it kind of grows on you.  Plus, I think she loves not having her hair get matted and being cooler when she's outside.  Either way, we a

Bridal Showers Bring May Flowers

Image
This past Saturday, I threw a bridal shower for one of my girlfriends. She is getting married at the end of May, and I am supposed to be one of the bridesmaids. The wedding is only a couple of weeks before my due date, so I'm hoping everything works out as planned! I woke up at 6 am the day of the shower to start setting up. It had been windy and cold the past few days, but we got lucky and had a beautiful, sunny day. Another girlfriend of mine, Kasie, came early to help set everything up. Before everyone else came, Isaac said let's get a picture of you girls. Isabel thought she should be in it too. Once everyone starting arriving, we made mimosas and everyone sat down to eat lunch. Next, we played some games. I think the funnest one was the toilet paper wedding dress game. We divided everyone up into 3 teams and gave them each 4 rolls of toilet paper. Some of them got pretty creative. Team Sam Team Jeni Team Liz Kelli with all of the brides. After the games, Kelli ope

4d Ultrasound

Image
Yesterday, we got to go to our last 4d ultrasound to see if we could catch some glimpses of what Grace will actually look like. They took measurements and just like our ultrasound earlier this week, they said she was about one week farther along than we originally thought. She had gained 4 ounces since Monday!! The technician said that she should be somewhere between 7 pounds, 8 ounces and 8 pounds, 2 ounces when she is born. That was such a relief to hear because I was starting to worry that we'd be having a nine pound baby. Here is one of her rubbing her eye and cracking a little smile. This one is a good shot of her big, pouty lips and chubby little cheeks. She is already sporting some major hair. They said she should be born with a full head of it! Here she is sticking out her tongue. It was so awesome to be able to watch her move and see her cute little smiles. I can't believe all of that is really happening inside my tummy! Now, we are even more excited for her to ge

30 Weeks

Image
We are finally 30 weeks pregnant!! That means that tomorrow our weekly countdown will be in the single digits...we're talking 9 weeks and 6 days. This week, Grace's eyes are developing more and more. She can only see a few inches in front of her now, but they're working on getting stronger. Also, her brain is getting more and more wrinkles as her brain cells continue to grow. Her fingernails and toenails are complete now too. Only 10 more weeks!!
