Gracie's Closet

Image
So, I've already started buying clothes for Grace. I've come to the realization that I can't really shop for me anymore. Nothing really fits right, so I've resorted to leggings and long shirts. Now, whenever I go to a store, I get stuck in the baby section picking out new outfits for Gracie. Isaac really wanted a boy, but I think he's really growing on the idea of having a girl. Today, he picked up a dress and said, "We HAVE to get this!" It really killed me to tell him that our daughter would never be caught dead in something so hideous. A few minutes later we both spotted a little yellow daisy dress and knew that we weren't leaving without it. The great thing about shopping for her is that I can get about 10 outfits for what I would normally pay for one of mine. Here are a few of my favorites: Adorable yellow daisy dress picked out by daddy Little lady bug dress Berry Sweet tee and matching striped pants (I couldn't resist this one!) Her firs

16 Weeks

Only 24 weeks left! At this point, I'm pretty sure the morning sickness is gone, but now I've gotten into heartburn and migraines. Every other week I get a migraine that lasts two or three days. Luckily, this last one only lasted 24 hours. The heartburn, however, occurs every time I eat. I carry Tums in my purse at all times and have been drinking gallons and gallons of milk which seems to help a bit. This week, Grace is about 4 1/2 inches from head to bottom and weighs about 3 1/2 ounces. She is about the size of an avocado. Grace also has fully developed her uterus and her ovaries already hold primitive egg cells! Her eyes have moved into their final position, and she will start accumulating fat cells this week. These should contribute to her chubby cheeks and belly when she's born :)

It's a Girl!!

Grace Taylor Espejo We went to 4d Baby to get an ultrasound last weekend. I couldn't wait to find out the sex of the baby while Isaac didn't want to know. I was really nervous at the beginning because you never know what it will be like. I made sure to pray the night before that the baby would be 'normal' and not have a sixth toe or something. When the technician started and told us that everything looked perfect, I couldn't have been more relieved. We took a peak at her spine and counted all 10 fingers and 10 toes. We were able to see all four chambers of her heart beating away at 150 beats per minutes. As soon as they told us it was a girl, Isaac grabbed my hand and started to cry. It was the most beautiful thing I had ever seen. I read online that you should eat some chocolate or fruit before going in so the baby would be more active. On the way to the ultrasound, we stopped for some peanut butter M&Ms. This was great advice because the baby was jump

15 Weeks

Today, I am 15 weeks pregnant.  I have officially been in the second trimester for a whole week!  The baby can squint, kick, wave, smile, hiccup, swallow, burp, and even suck its thumb (although I won't be able to feel any movements for at least another week or two).  Right now, the baby is about the size of an apple and about 4 inches long. He or she looks a little something like this...a long way from 4 weeks ago when it had a tail and looked like a tadpole/dinosaur!  This week, the baby also starts to grow his or her eyebrows and eyelashes.  It's pretty crazy to think that there is a real human life inside of me.  A couple of weeks ago we were able to hear the heartbeat which was amazing, but tomorrow will be even better.  We get to have a 4d ultrasound and find out the sex of the baby.  We'll get tons of pictures so I'll be sure to share them as soon as I get out of the doctor's office!

A Bun in the Oven

Isaac and I have been talking about babies for about four years now.  We decided that immediately after the wedding was over, we would start trying.  You hear all the time that when couples try for a baby, it takes months or even years.  I knew that I wanted one right away so I bought about six pregnancy tests and started taking one every other day about three weeks after the wedding.  I finally decided to really read the directions, and they said to take the test first thing when you wake up.  So, I set my alarm for 6am the next morning, and the second it went off I ran to the bathroom.  I remember while waiting for all of the other tests I was just praying and praying that they would say 'yes'.  This time, while sitting there on the edge of the bathtub trying to keep my eyes open, I just wanted it to hurry and tell me so I could get back into bed.  I looked down and saw the 'YES+' on the stick, and I couldn't believe it.  I just kind of stared at it for a minut

Viva la Mexico!!

Two weeks ago, I uploaded all of our honeymoon photos to my laptop and then proceeded to delete them off of my camera (not a good idea).  A few hours later, my computer froze.  I turned it off, and everytime I tried to turn it back on, I got a blue screen.  I decided to take my computer to Best Buy and they told me what I did NOT want to hear...my hard drive had crashed!! Then they told me that I probably wouldn't be able to recover anything off of it.  I called Dell and got a new one since my computer was still under warranty, but I still had none of my pictures.  One of my friends called her IT guy from work and luckily, he was able to save the honeymoon pictures!!  Good thing too, because now I can share them all with you. Our honeymoon was AMAZING .  We flew to Cancun at seven in the morning the day after the wedding.  After about two hours of sleep that night, I ended up sleeping on the plane the entire way there which was nice.  We arrived in Mexico at around three in the a

Our First Day

Image
Isaac and I have been together for almost eight years now, and although that seems like forever we are only just beginning our life together.  September 5, 2009 was our official first day as one.  We had the most amazing wedding of all time, and I can't believe it has come and gone already.  I remember sitting next to each other in Ms. Furlow's earth science class in seventh grade.  Isaac kept me laughing and would pick on me constantly (and I had the biggest crush on him).  We ended up "going out" for about two weeks before he dumped me because I would not kiss him.  It's hard to believe that it was already more than ten years ago!!  The first day of sophomore year at Foothill High School we were given assigned seats in our Spanish class.  Guess who was seated right behind me?  It didn't take long before we were dating again, and as they say, the rest is history :) Here are some of our favorite pictures from our absolutely beautiful wedding (thanks mom and
