Gracie's Closet

Image
So, I've already started buying clothes for Grace. I've come to the realization that I can't really shop for me anymore. Nothing really fits right, so I've resorted to leggings and long shirts. Now, whenever I go to a store, I get stuck in the baby section picking out new outfits for Gracie. Isaac really wanted a boy, but I think he's really growing on the idea of having a girl. Today, he picked up a dress and said, "We HAVE to get this!" It really killed me to tell him that our daughter would never be caught dead in something so hideous. A few minutes later we both spotted a little yellow daisy dress and knew that we weren't leaving without it. The great thing about shopping for her is that I can get about 10 outfits for what I would normally pay for one of mine. Here are a few of my favorites: Adorable yellow daisy dress picked out by daddy Little lady bug dress Berry Sweet tee and matching striped pants (I couldn't resist this one!) Her firs

Only 24 weeks left! At this point, I'm pretty sure the morning sickness is gone, but now I've gotten into heartburn and migraines. Every other week I get a migraine that lasts two or three days. Luckily, this last one only lasted 24 hours. The heartburn, however, occurs every time I eat. I carry Tums in my purse at all times and have been drinking gallons and gallons of milk which seems to help a bit. This week, Grace is about 4 1/2 inches from head to bottom and weighs about 3 1/2 ounces. She is about the size of an avocado. Grace also has fully developed her uterus and her ovaries already hold primitive egg cells! Her eyes have moved into their final position, and she will start accumulating fat cells this week. These should contribute to her chubby cheeks and belly when she's born :)

It's a Girl!!

Grace Taylor Espejo We went to 4d Baby to get an ultrasound last weekend. I couldn't wait to find out the sex of the baby while Isaac didn't want to know. I was really nervous at the beginning because you never know what it will be like. I made sure to pray the night before that the baby would be 'normal' and not have a sixth toe or something. When the technician started and told us that everything looked perfect, I couldn't have been more relieved. We took a peak at her spine and counted all 10 fingers and 10 toes. We were able to see all four chambers of her heart beating away at 150 beats per minutes. As soon as they told us it was a girl, Isaac grabbed my hand and started to cry. It was the most beautiful thing I had ever seen. I read online that you should eat some chocolate or fruit before going in so the baby would be more active. On the way to the ultrasound, we stopped for some peanut butter M&Ms. This was great advice because the baby was jump

15 Weeks

Today, I am 15 weeks pregnant.  I have officially been in the second trimester for a whole week!  The baby can squint, kick, wave, smile, hiccup, swallow, burp, and even suck its thumb (although I won't be able to feel any movements for at least another week or two).  Right now, the baby is about the size of an apple and about 4 inches long. He or she looks a little something like this...a long way from 4 weeks ago when it had a tail and looked like a tadpole/dinosaur!  This week, the baby also starts to grow his or her eyebrows and eyelashes.  It's pretty crazy to think that there is a real human life inside of me.  A couple of weeks ago we were able to hear the heartbeat which was amazing, but tomorrow will be even better.  We get to have a 4d ultrasound and find out the sex of the baby.  We'll get tons of pictures so I'll be sure to share them as soon as I get out of the doctor's office!
